Dr. Bob Peters has been a resident of Tyler for most of his life, graduating from Tyler Junior College before going on to earn his BA from Texas Christian University, his MA from Stephen F. Austin, and his Ph.D in History from the University of Texas at Austin. Since 1966, "Dr. Bob" has taught government and history at Tyler Junior College, where he also served as Dean of the School of University Studies. He has served on the governing boards of six State agencies under the administrations of Governors White, Clements, Richards, Bush, and Perry. Dr. Bob is in his fifth decade of reporting news and weather for East Texas, and has been the National Weather Service observer for Tyler since 1992.
